These two guys are at the forefront of well-produced and thought out techno. In addition, they seem to compose from a history that goes back further than the mid-80's, incorporating classical elements or concepts that stem from, perhaps, piano training. But maybe they're also trying to make techno relevant to more than geeks and dope fiends (apologies where necessary)? Though they haven't released any opii (Stange Cargo series?), I wonder if techno is (finally) attracting those who have a disposition toward old white people's music, in addition to its DJ/dancefloor/percussion roots in non-European musics. eric
